Your attention notices everything, but it doesn't have any content itself. 
It simply notices and accepts.


​Through our coaching conversations, you'll learn to recognize and rest into your attention - which is the aspect of yourself that is contentless and aware - as a way to make change within yourself, in your world and in the world at large.


This practice allows you to see more clearly what's stirring within you, and allows you to become clearer about from "where," "who," or "what" a decision or action of yours is coming. This is potent work.

  • Notice that your attention (or awareness) is content-less. It makes no demands. Yet it's always here.
  • Attention just is:   It's being. It may be that attention is stuck on the thoughts in your mind, your emotional state, your sensations, or a positive or negative image of yourself that you're holding and defending. But it's simply not possible, for attention not to be here.  Now. Always.
  • In Coaching for Life's challenges, you'll learn how to disidentify from the objects that your attention gets stuck on, and you'll learn how to rest back into content-less attention (or awareness). As you do so, you'll experience ease and a quiet kind of joy: contentment.  
  • ​Many people experience attention in partial bursts or pay attention in a narrow, emergency mode.  You may be urgently scanning your calendar for the next event or planning for a meeting, then a "beep" arrives, signaling a new message. You're interrupted and disrupted and can feel like you're on a roller coaster and under siege, in our 24/7/365 culture of personal and professional demands, social media, internet and email. You may be on the offensive, trying to stand out for that promotion or defending yourself against negativity or an onslaught of to-do's. Sometimes the end result is that you erupt, reacting to a situation that really calls for a response. Your nervous system may be over engaged, and the stress hormone cortisol elevated. Health challenges can result. If you've been introduced to a mindfulness practice, it may just feel like that's one more thing to do.  "Now I've got to 'be in the moment' too," you might think to yourself.  It doesn't have to be that way.
